snow's gone but still icy on our lane, the lane I go along to cut over to the Falmouth road has still got the snow along the centre of the track, tonight I went off centre and skidded along, scary!

Ankle

Just an update that my ankle is improving, still swollen and painful at times but it's not throbbing in the middle of the night and keeping me awake as it was. Perhaps I could wear the heels!

Weekend in Norwich

We had a lovely weekend in Norwich seeing Jen and Lucy. They live in a flat in a really big old house hidden from the road, you go in through the door to the secret garden. Their place is really nice. We went to the Vintage Fair down at Dragon Hall, had lunch at the Butterfly Cafe, cinnamon and apple pancake to be recommended, the BLT was not bad either. We went to the Forum which was kind of big - easily recognisable with hoards of teenage emos outside. Once we got back to Jen and Lucy's we decided not to go out but to order a take away and watch a dvd which was lovely. Poor choice of hotel - Travelodge in the Centre of town so a very noisy night! Had brunch in Giraffe on Sunday and then sadly had to get back on our way home. Thanks for a lovely weekend girlies.

Fish and chips

In honour of Liz's last night in Cornwall we went for fish and chips at the best best place in Cornwall which is John Becks. Just as it was when we went there all those years ago on holiday, write you name down on a list with the number of seats you want, order drinks in the bar and then just sit and wait in the brightly lit bar until your name is shouted out. Lol. There's an old granny shouting the names out and another waiting on the tables, they looked old when we started going there 10 years ago! Lol. no offence meant I'm not ageist. The fish and chips is fantastic, cooked to order, huge pieces of fish and yummy chips and mushy peas if you want them. Lovely......won't get that in London Liz!

Dinner

Today we had spaghetti and meatballs for tea, oh yes, and garlic bread. Yum. Not quite as nice as my home made turkey meatballs from the other night but still good. Last week we had that "be good" garlic bread that doesn't really have butter only some kind of flavouring, won't buy that again, mind you the dogs liked it. In fact they were so cheeky, I'm sure it's Bailey, I got 1 baguette out put it on the worktop to put in the oven later on, next thing I know come to put the garlic bread in and it's disappeared. Last weekend a whole loaf of bread disappeared via the same route.
I still feel like chocolate though, Jonny's just cooking a second tea with his protein (chilli chicken), I've made do with a peanut butter sandwich.

Snooker & Golf

I'm sure those playing it enjoy it but on the telly....duh, its boring. Even more boring that Graham likes it. The games are sooooo long, last all evening, and such a waste of time. So tedious. Sorry sports fans.

My ankle

I'm always doing it, falling over and going over on my ankle, mostly its ok, sometimes really bad, this time its pretty bad. I was getting in the car and weirdly my foot caught on the door sill leading into the car and I just kind of let my foot buckle under me, that hurt but the worst thing was a few days later I twisted it again out on a dog walk. Anyway, as I say, I'm always doing it so I kind of ignored it, trouble is it hasn't got better AT ALL. I have this weird sort of spasm thing on the front of my foot at the end of the day. Dr gave me drugs.
Anyway, finally Jacky the Physio has had a look and she thinks the main problem is the swelling so I need to get that down by taking the anti-inflammatories for 2 weeks (omg medication for 2 weeks - don't normally do that!) She also advised ice and support. So at least I have a plan now and hopefully it will improve.
Well its 2 weeks later now and its certainly less swollen but still painful especially in the front in the middle of the night! Grrr.Wish I could cope with some heels :( then I could wear my new dress.
